Do you charge for quotes?

No, we don’t charge for quotes. At Mancini Electrical we prefer to do a site visit and quote any work beforehand to remain as transparent as possible with no hidden costs.

How long is the warranty?

Mancini Electrical offers 12 months warranty on workmanship and parts, unless alternative warranty periods are specified with a product. Products sourced by clients must be repaired by the supplier during the warranty period.

Do I need hard wired smoke alarms installed when renting or selling my house?

Yes. There are some exceptions where ten-year battery smoke alarms are permitted. However, if the dwelling is going to be demolished, then smoke alarms are not required. Also, if your home was built after 1st May 2015, and you have more than one hard wired smoke alarm installed, they must be interconnected.

Do I need Residual Current Devices (RCDs) installed when renting or selling my house?

Yes. There must be a minimum of two RCDs installed protecting lighting and power outlet circuits. However, if the dwelling is going to be demolished, then RCDs are not required.

Who can do electrical work in a home?

Only a licenced electrician performing work on behalf of a registered electrical business is permitted to work on any electrical exceeding 50 volts AC (alternating current). You must receive an electrical safety certificate within 28 days of completion of any electrical work. Electrical workers must be able to provide their EC licence number upon request. And Electrical Contracting businesses must always display their EC number. These can be checked online to ensure work is compliant.
